Details

A key exchange will be done. We are not taking any dogs.

One group will start from Cub Creek, the other group will start from Staunton state park.

Cub Creek Trail is a pleasant hike through the forest on a rolling gradual trail. One group will hike this trail to Staunton state park turnoff. We will hike the new trail that connects Cub Creek to Staunton. New trail hooks into Bugeling elk trail in Staunton. Once on Bugeling elk trail, will then hike approx 5 mi down thru Staunton Ranch trail to trhd at Staunton State Park. Trails in Staunton are thru forest, approx 1 mi on old road, then wide well graded trail to trailhead.

Other group will start at Staunton State park and follow trails in reverse order. EITHER WAY IS APPROX SAME ELEVATION GAIN/LOSS. Tom and Linda will lead 1 group, Linda Lawson will lead other group. Pace will be about the same each direction.

When we meet we will have a lunch break.   Be prepared for a long day.

*This is a Bobcats trip. The Bobcats' mission is to ensure a variety of challenging CMC trips, especially “B Difficult” and “C” hikes and Difficult Snowshoes, for our mostly age-50+ constituents. We may sponsor other activities of interest to our members, everything from bike rides to camping. Although we have members, we don’t have dues or elections, and our trips are non-exclusive. We welcome all CMC members to sign up for any Bobcats trip regardless of age or Bobcats membership.
