This is a lovely hike terminating at a small mountain lake where we will eat lunch before we return. It follows and crosses part of the Continental Divide Trail.

The goal is to get new members comfortable with the trip sign-up and trip-taking process. We will answer new members; practical questions and can talk as you wish about pace, clothing, gear, schools, etc. I will write you with a weather forecast the day before. Do not assume bad weather means the trip is canceled. We only cancel if the roads are treacherous. We just try to dress appropriately.

Please advise me of any medical conditions that might impact your hiking.

Please bring those of the 10 essentials appropriate to a three-hour hike. Wear proper hiking boots, sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water.

Part of the trail is steep and gravel-slippery, so bring hiking poles if you use them. Traction devices, such as microspikes, might be useful on the way back down. (We recommend you always carry them in your pack, at least from late fall through early summer)

No jeans or cotton clothing. We can talk more about all that on trip day.

No dogs, please. Look for Doggie Hikes on the CMC calendar.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
