Climb the Citadel northeast couloir (a.k.a. “Snoopy’s Backside”) at the headwall of Herman Gulch in Clear Creek County. Start at Herman Gulch trailhead.

All participants must leave both Saturday and Sunday (June 15 & 16) open. We'll plan to go on Saturday but use Sunday as a backup if weather and snow conditions dictate.

This will be a long day with a very early start. We will probably leave the Herman Gulch trailhead around 2am.

We usually rappel the first 200 feet of the south side ("Snoopy's collar") to start our descent.

Reference: Colorado Snow Climbs by Dave Cooper. Climb #24.

This is a free trip open to anybody that has completed all of the ACS cirriculum. Navigation, Snow & Rock.

Priority will be given to those that need a snow climb to complete ACS.

Trip plan will be provided separately.
