Join the Colorado Mountain Club in our Women Crush Wednesday Series!

There is an optional "Wine Down Wednesday" happy hour at Trailhead Taphouse & Kitchen, sponsored by our friends at New Belgium Brewing! All members that sign up through the CMC website will receive a free New Belgium beer!

Start out at the lower trailhead for White Ranch park in Golden and begin up Belcher Hill. The first section winds through a valley, crossing a short rocky area, leading up to the Belcher Hill climb about a mile up. Follow Belcher Hill on a rough washed out 4wd type road. Pass Whippletree on the right and continue up to Longhorn Trail on the right about 0.25 miles further up. Take the Longhorn trail on your right. Stay on Longhorn (don't go on Shorthorn), and as you get towards the bottom of Longhorn, there will be one short, steep climb back up to Whippletree. Head back on Whippletree to rejoin with the Belcher Hill trail for the last mile back to the parking area.

Dogs on leashes are okay on the hike - however, Trailhead Taphouse & Kitchen does not allow dogs.

Notes

Please bring the essential ten essentials on the hike. Click here for the complete list.  This trail has some sun exposure, so please be sure to bring sun protection (sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses).  In August, we also need to be wary of Rattlesnakes bikes, and heat. So, bring lots of water, and be on the lookout.
