Please contact the leader for questions; Dale Pfaff,, (847) 504-6650.  I will not have access to phone or Email from June 20th through June 28th.  I will address any questions after that time.

We will start the hike from the winter trailhead parking area, ~Elevation 10,600', and head up the mountain dirt road for a half mile up to and past the 4WD lot.

At 1.4 miles, look for the Iowa Mill, built in 1935. At 1.6 miles, there is a great view of Breckenridge Ski Area. At 3.55 miles, the trail narrows, continuing along the mountain ridge. At ~ 5.3 miles, we will be on the rocky and exposed summit of Bald Mountain at an elevation of ~ 13,684'.  We will return on the same trail back to the parking area.  Depending on our pace, breaks, and site seeing, this hike will take most of the day.  As always, since we are above tree line, we will have to keep an eye on the weather and lightening potential.

There are no restrooms on this trail, so please plan accordingly.  Recommended items for this hiking trip (Additional gear information on the Ten (10) Essentials can be found at
