Details

Note: This trip is register with leader.  This is a scramble with exposure, although the distance is shorter at a 3 mile approach we will be scrambling along a class three rocky ridge.  Please e-mail trip leader to relate your recent/relevant scrambling experience with scrambling and any relevant include CMC Classes like ASC, BMS and hiker designation.

From the Twin Sisters Trailhead, we will ascend along an established trail.  At about 1.3 miles we will cross over the landside washed out portion (damaged by 2013 flood and short/easy to manuever.)  The trail then becomes steeper as we continue to ascend via a series of switchbacks through coniferous forest.  Just after reaching treeline at 3 miles, we will leave the trail to scramble along the ridge.  After some fun scrambling on the ridge, we will continue hiking on for a short distance to Twin Sister West peak for a short break.  As time, weather and desire dictates, we may then hike up Twin Sister East.  We will follow the trail down back to the trail head.

Required Equipment:

  • 10 Essentials

  • Climbing Helmet

  • Climbing Harness

  • Hiking Boots or Approach Shoes suitable for rock climbing

  • Optional: climbing gloves
