Details

After getting to the Skinny Fish trail head on Friday morning, the group will start out by climbing the first mile northeast some 600' of elevation. Then the trail will turn more to the east and contours its way for the next mile climbing only here and there. The final climb of approximately 250' takes the group north for the final 1/2 mile. Once Skinny Fish Lake has been reached, we'll make camp where we'll stay for the next two nights. Saturday is an "off" day where the group can just lay around in camp or fish at Skinny Fish Lake or take a short hike to McGinnis Lake and fish or just hike in the area taking pictures of the Chinese Wall. The final day, Sunday, we'll pack up camp in late morning and backpack our way back to the vehicles.

Notes

Note: 1) This is an easy backpack where the pace will be "casual"! Anyone wanting to go faster should go on a faster paced backpack. 2) If you love to fish, then this backpack might be for you because word on the street has it that both Skinny Fish and McGinnis Lakes are teaming with trout. 3) Some backpacking experience is necessary to get on this trip. If you don't have any, then the leader won't allow you on the backpack. 4) This is a "Register with Leader" backpack. Anyone interested must contact the leader to get on it. 5) If you love photography, then bringing a camera would probably be wise! 6) Once the backpack is finished and the group has gotten back to the vehicles, we'll have a small party to bask in our accomplishments!
