Post Trip Report

Trip went as planned and everything went like clockwork.

We left the TH at ~8:15 AM. We were at King shortly after noon. We enjoyed lunch there and the great scenery of King Lake and the Continenal Divide above.  Weather was clear and sunny.  It was hot down in the city but it was a chilly temp at King Lake with strong breazes.  We were back at the cars at ~4 PM.

Everyone had a great time and there were no problems. Another great hike in the mountains.  People needed to get going after the hike so we did not stop to eat anywhere on the way home.

-------------------------------

Starting this June, the Denver Member Initiatives Committee (DMIC) is excited to offer a second round of the Ascending Hikes series.  This program is geared towards new members and individuals seeking to gradually increase their fitness and hiking difficulty, with the goal of reaching the summit of a Colorado 14er in September 2019.  Members can sign up for any hike and do not have to sign up for the series.

The second round of the series will begin with a classification of Easy A hikes ( up to 8 miles round trip and/or 1200 ft. elevation gain) and progress to a classification of Difficult B hikes (up to 12 miles round trip and/or 2500 ft. elevation gain).  Hikes will occur on Sundays.
