Butler Gulch trail head is located off of US 40 at the end of the Henderson Mine Road. At peak bloom, this area is a wildflower paradise. We will climb through fields of flowers along Butler Gulch Creek, ultimately reaching a wide open bowl with beautiful views of the Continental Divide. This will be our lunch spot. We will also explore some very interesting mining ruins. Look for an update regarding trail conditions and weather 1-2 days before the hike. There will be an optional stop for ice cream in Empire following the hike. Please bring plenty of water, snacks, and lunch, and as always, be sure to have your 10 essentials. If you have any medical issues that might be of concern, please call or email me to discuss them before the hike.
