We will hike the Raccoon Trail loop by starting and ending this loop at the viewing platform at Panorama Point.  This location gives a, north - south 100 mile stretch, view of the Continental Divide and this year the peaks have a heavy snow pack.  Likely you will want to take photos.

Starting elevation 9,300.                                                                                                                                                      Raccoon Trail has several ups and downs for a total elevation gain of 750 ft.  Altitude range of trail is 8,850 to 9,300 ft.  This trail has a couple start location options.  However, by starting and ending this loop at Panorama Point, we will be able to enjoy the spectacular view twice.  Although this means the final portion will be uphill.

This will be a very casual pace hike.

Each person should bring water, snacks / lunch, and their 10 essentials including personal medications and first aid items, plus sun protections.  Additionally, since June is typically peak Tick season, be prepared with Insect Repellant products.

Please notify the Leader, prior to the hike, if you have any medical issues which could impact you and this hike.

There are vault toilets at Panorama Point.

Be sure to check for the email update which I will be send, by mid-day on Tuesday June 4th, regarding  current weather and trail conditions and other appropriate gear for this hike.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
