Day 1:

Approach - Hike in 4 miles along Upper Piney River Trail (established) / KneeKnocker Pass Trail (not established)  (look for cairns at trail junction @2.9 miles, see waypoints) to set up a camp at approx 11,200 elevation (or 86 degrees bearing to Peak C, 297 degrees to pt. 12626, and 152 degrees to pt. 12225). Campsite can be approximate. Suggested sleep time 9pm.

Day 2:

Ascent - Leave camp no later than 4:30 a.m. and ascend to the saddle and then the base of the couloir (arrive approx 6 a.m.). Gear up for couloir and ascend approx 1000 ft bearing 41 degrees to ridge, may encounter mixed climbing or scrambling. Arrive to top of ridge by 8:30 a.m. time and continue to summit via class 4 scrambling, first by ascending a crumbly face (shale)  then along an exposed ridge with pinnacles that need to be bypassed carefully (approx 09-9:30 a.m.).

Descent - From the summit of Peak C, scramble down a few hundred feet. Either continue down southwest ridge of down climb couloir. Pack up camp and hike out same route back to trailhead.
