Hike from Crags Trailhead to Devil's Playground to Pikes Peak summit, all on trail. 5 of the 7 miles are above treeline.

Great photo opportunities plus World-Famous Donuts available at summit. Return by same route.

If you do not want to hike  from the Crag's trail where it interesects Pikes peak hwy at mile 16 (Devils PLayground)to the summit or vice versa, you may be able to take van 16 to or from Devil's playground to the summit. This is a good option on the return if the weather changes. Do not feel you need to hike to the summit from Devil's playground if you are too tired, you can get a ride to the top and we can meet you there.

High-altitude conditioning required.Participants should be comfortable hiking above 13000 ft, and have done so recently, since Jan 1, 2019. The last 500 feet approx involves picking  your way thru rocks that is the "trail". Sometimes its hard to find the proper trail in the rocks. Rocks are mostly stable. We may have a "faster & slower" group. Questions about fitness contact leaders above.

Be prepared for wind and cold.

We will hike at a moderate, steady pace.  Anticipate 5-6 hr to summit.

Possible stop afterwards for "fast food" meal in Woodland Park.
