Details

This difficult hike begins at the Ryan Gulch trail head in Eagle Nest Wilderness. We'll follow this trail NW down to the Gore Range Trail. Then turning to the west and south, we'll climb our way to Eccles Pass over the course of the next 4 1/2 miles. This section of trail is very consistant climbing and will truly test everyone's stamina and endurance. Once on the pass, we'll have lunch (weather permitting) and afterward, leave the pass now following the Meadow Creek Trail generally SW and then finally north. But wait, we're still not done! Once we've come to the Lily Pad Lake Trail, we'll follow this trail another 2 1/2 miles to the waiting vehicles. Make sure to bring your cameras because not only are the views incredible, but the wildflowers are generally spectacular.

THIS HIKE IS EXTREMELY TOUGH WITH A LOT OF CONSISTANT ELEVATION GAIN OVER 13 MILES, SO ONE CAN EXPECT A VERY LONG DAY IN THE FIELD. IT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE!

If we feel up to it we might also bag Red Buffalo pass as well.

Notes

Expect not only a very long day of hiking and consistant distance and elevation gain, but also plan for a stop after the hike is over for food and spirits. Make sure to bring your cameras and if they day is on the warm side (temperature wise), carrying extra water with you is definitely necessary.
