Details

This is a field trip of the Alpine Scrambling Program. ASC students and instructors are given preference for registration. Others may register but participation is dependent on available space.

Aiguille du Greyrock is a seldom-climbed class 3 peak on the west side of Greyrock meadow. From the trailhead, we will follow the Meadow trail to Greyrock meadow and ultimately the route described at SummitPost:

https://www.summitpost.org/mountain/779801

Participants will be required to bring the following items:

  • Mountaineering boots or approach shoes

  • Climbing helmet

  • Climbing harness

  • 2 locking carabiners

  • Accessory cord

  • 10 essentials

  • 2L water

Instructors will carry a 30m rope and traditional climbing protection for those participants who wish to be belayed for the crux section of the route. Since this route contains class 3 scrambling with moderate exposure risk, ASC students should expect to be belayed for one or more sections of this climb.

Additional information will be communicated to participants prior to the trip.
