Details

This hike has been scouted by Rick Bell who is a Leader in Training on this hike.  The route that will be taken is not the usual trail. We will be on some game trails through the forest and some open meadows.  We will avoid the willows. There are some rocky surfaces at the high point by the base of Pacific Peak. This is where the best views are: Elbert and Holy Cross to the west; Gore Range and Crystal Peak to the east.  With Atlantic and Pacific right in front of you.

This hike will be at a moderate pace. Should make the round trip in 5 ½ hours.

The trailhead is at 11,000’ and the Saddle between Mayflower Hill and Pacific Peak is 12,600’.

Bring the ten essentials!  This is not a difficult hike but it is secluded.

We are not planning on crossing any snow but there are some damp areas.

Please bring at least two liters of water, rain gear and layers, sun protection (sun screen, lip balm, sunglasses, hat), snacks and lunch, sturdy footwear, and hiking poles are recommended.
