The plan is to climb Bierstadt first. Then cross the Sawtooth traverse and up to the summit of The Sawtooth. Then climb Mt. Evans. After that we will see how we are feeling and what the weather looks like. We may decide to go for the 13er-Graywolf over & beyond Mt. Spaulding. So, the plan is to move quick and efficiently to cover all this ground. Ice Axe and microspikes or crampons required as great care will be needed during The Sawtooth traverse. So, this is not a climb for people new to climbing 14ers.

All four us made the summit of Bierstadt in 2 hrs 45 min. We then went for the Sawtooth traverse which was far more spicey than I thought it was going to be. But it was fun scrambling. The exposed traverse ramp was much wider and less difficult than it had been ramped up to be. We then summited the unranked 13er The Sawtooth. This summit has an amazing straight down drop off of the south side. Amazing cliff! After this we hike over to Mt. Evans. This always takes such a long time and seem to just keep going. But we made the summit and enjoyed it with the hoards that are always up there on a Saturday in the summer. After Mt Evans we traverse to West Evans and got that unranked 14er. Two in our party also summit Mt. Spaulding. After a long 11 hour day of hiking and trapsing through the marsh down in the Scott Gomer basin, we made it to the car before getting rained on. Great day and traverse!
