Most people joined in Rollinsville at the meeting time of 7:45. With a couple persons arriving at the time of, the group departed for Yankee Doodle lake at about 8:00 am, leaving extra vehicles in the town of Rollinsville. Four visitors had stayed overnight at the hut on Fri 9/06. The larger group arrived at the hut from Rollinsville by 10:30. A few others (Steve Priem and Conor Felleter) arrived separately at 11 am (hiking) or 1 pm (after the Ned Ned half marathon). The group was able to carry in replacement steps for the stairs, replacement stove pipe for the wood stove, consumables (paper towel and TP), and work tools (including mauls and 3 chainsaws). The primary activity was wood cutting, as a few annual maintenance activities were performed early in August (empty the outhouse pit, chimney sweep the stove pipe, clean the hut). With at least 30 persons, we did find time to replace the steps, add the reinforcement 1 x 4 to the outhouse, improve the seal on the front door. This year also featured work to clean up after the woodcutting including raking up wood bits and dispersing trimmed branches into the forest. The group was productive and filling the wood pile and provisioning for next year. Most persons left the hut by 4:00 pm, leaving one overnight visitor at the hut. The group carried out components of the wood stove, so that it could be repaired (drill out broken bolts). Those that walked out rendezvoused at Yankee doodle lake before going their separate ways.
