Details

From the trailhead we will follow the Wheeler Trail to Crystal Creek, head west up to Lower Crystal Lake and then contour around to the base of Father Dyer's east ridge. This ridge is about 1,000 feet of mixed class 2 and 3 scrambling with some short sections of exposure and plenty of loose rock. From the summit of Father Dyer, we will continue west along the ridge (mostly class 2) to the summit of Crystal Peak, a Colorado Centennial 13er. From Crystal Peak, we will descend east to the saddle betweeen Crystal Peak and Peak 10 where we will drop back down to Lower Crystal Lake and follow our up track back to the cars.
