Please email, phone, or text the trip leader if you need to cancel. There have been a rash of “no shows” at the carpool meet-up locations requiring groups to stand around waiting for the no show participant to not arrive.

We will meet at The Fort restaurant near Morrison at 7:00am for a no later than 7:15am departure.

To get to The Fort parking area drive south on US 285, then exit right onto CO 8 (Morrison exit). We will park a few hundred feet past the Fort restaurant. You should see my bright yellow Nissan Xterra off to the right side of the road.

It is desirable at this point to arrange car pools which will allow some hikers to stop at the Snowpack Taproom (just south of Conifer) for refreshments after the hike, and others to more quickly return to Denver.

o, these are not the “Noodle Heads” although noodle heads may be hiking in the immediate vicinity. The Noddles are two pointy outcroppings at each end of a flat ridge. Some say the outcroppings resemble owl’s ears when seen from the west but for us they will simply be unclimbable rock features in an otherwise benign area.

The Noddles sit SE of Long Scraggy Peak and NW of Devils Head.

Although this hike will tend to be more relaxed and leisurely, we will need to keep moving at a moderate pace just to get our mission accomplished. The hike will initially allow us to gain most elevation and distance via an old jeep road, with the second half off trail through mild terrain. Canoodling on the Noddles allowed, but only during lunch.

New suggestion: Some of us thought it would be fun to wear some sort of a Halloween theme attire. Of course you don't have to, but if you want to get in the Fall mood, and the spirit of things, then give this suggestion some thought.
