The large Aspen forests along the trail are at peak color.

The trail gradually climbs through a pine forest for 2 miles then crosses the Scott Gomer Creek on a solid log bridge. There is a small stream crossing about 1 mile in that is a combination of rocks and small logs.  The clearing at the bridge has a great view of Mt Evans.  For the next mile there are many views of the Aspen covered hillsides. The hike ends at a second log bridge that crosses back across the creek.  This second log bridge is bit shakey and so crossing it is optional.  The lunch stop will be on either end of this second bridge,

The total hike distnce is about 6.6 miles, the starting elevation is 9,600 and the lunch spot elevation is 10,400.  The trail is wide and in good condition. This hike requires that you be in modestly good shape.

There are no plans for a social stop.
