Details

This is a trip for RMOTHG members or their qualified guests (50 years of age and older) only.  This will be a loop hike at Staunton State Park, going counter-clockwise via Mason Creek Trail-Old MIll Trail-Staunton Ranch Trail.  Here is a link to the trail map.

We will plan to eat lunch at the nice picnic area at the junction of Old Mill and Staunton Ranch trails, which is roughly the five mile mark.  Restrooms are available at the new Staunton Park Visitor Center.

When hiking this trail two weeks ago, there were several aspen groves just starting to change color as well as lots of deer.  Hopefully, we'll see both again on this trip.

Please bring your 10 essentials, lunch/snacks, and plenty of water.  If you are accustomed to hiking with trekking poles, please bring those as well.  There are a few rocky sections of trail where they will come in handy.

Please let me know in advance if you have any medical issues that may affect you on this hike.
