Well known Chasm Lake sits at the base of the awe inspiring east face of Foueteener Longs Peak in RMNP.  The trail from Longs Peak TH is good all the way except for some easy scrambling approaching the lake. Our adventure starts with a steep ascent in the trees and then continues to climb above treeline to the base of Mount Lady Washington where our trail to Chasm Lake splits off.  Steep descent to Chasm Lake with easy scrambling. Early November could see good fall weather or an early winter blast and if the forecast is bad I will substitute a lower elevation hike.

Distance: 9.4 miles (out/back)

Gain: 2,700 feet

Gear: 10 Essentilas (possible for microspikes or snowshoes)
