Exploratory -  I have not actually done this peak.

Kelso Mountain is a low thirteener in the front Range. It is the fourth and lesser peak of Upper Stevens Gulch, through which thousands of people pass on their way to nearby Grays and Torreys Peaks. We will park Bakerville conditions.  We will then hike the Stevens Gulch road to the Grays trail, leaving the trail to ascend to the mine at the saddle between Kelso ridge and Kelso Mountain. We will climb the north east ridge of Kelso and return to Bakerville the same route.

Everyone will be expected to break trail and maintain a pace of at least 1000ft an hour. Hikers of all rating are welcome.  Microspikes are recommended and winter clothing including full facial protection is essential.

Weather was great and everbody had a great time.  We were able to drive to the Grizzley Gulch Junction.  Total travel time for the trip including breaks was right at 6 hours.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
