This is an LIT trip for Patrick Hankins.
Please contact him directly with any questions.

From the trailhead we will follow the Watrous Gulch trail for about two miles before veering right to climb the saddle between Woods Mountain and Mt. Parnassus. At the saddle we can stash our snowshoes and turn towards Mt. Parnassus for the last 1,100 ft to the summit and incredible views. Our return will follow this same route. We will stay together as a team and may turn around before reaching the summit if the weather becomes too uncomfortable or too strenuous for some team member(s).

I’m estimating it will take us 7 hours to complete this hike from car to car. Assuming we hit the trail by 7:30 AM, we should be back to our cars around 2:30 PM leaving enough time for food/beer on the way home if the group wants to.

There is a strong chance we will encounter winter conditions on this hike, and so there are additional gear requirements (in addition to standard summer gear and Ten Essentials).

Required Gear:
Snowshoes and a way to carry them on your pack
Traction device (microspikes)

Recommended Gear:
Ski goggles
Ski gloves/mittens

Basically you will need flotation, plenty of layers, and the ability to cover exposed skin if necessary (it is likely we will encounter high winds above treeline).

You will not be allowed to join this trip without the required gear.

Please do not sign up for this trip if you are not certain that you have the necessary experience to hike a 13er in winter conditions. Contact Patrick directly with any questions.

Additional trip details will be provided separately.

By signing up for this trip, you agree to share your basic contact information (name, email, phone) with the group.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
