Location

Our two class nights ( March 24 and 31, 2020) will be held in conference rooms C & D of the American Mountaineering Center, 710 10th Street, in Golden, CO. 

Our first and second field days (Saturdays April 4 and 11, 2020)  are held at the Pine Valley Ranch Open Space Park in Jefferson County.  

The location of the third field (Saturday April 18, 2020) day is determined by your Senior Instructor.

Details

The Fly Fishing School is designed for both beginners and novices.

Well-versed instructors, including an aquatic biologist and master certified fly casting instructor, teach basic fly fishing in two evening classes and three field days.



Our school (or similar experience) is required for Denver Group fly fishing trips.



2020 Fly Fishing School Dates:

• Tuesday 3/24 - AMC Golden - Class #1 (6:30-9:15 PM)

• Tuesday 3/31 - AMC Golden - Class #2 (6:30-9:15 PM)



Field Trips:

• Saturday 4/4 - Field Day #1 - Pine Valley Ranch Park (8:30-2:30)

• Saturday 4/11 - Field Day #2 - Pine Valley Ranch Park (8:30-2:30)

• Sat or Sun 4/18 or 4/19 - Graduation Fishing Trip - Locale TBD (8:30-3:30)



Students receive a 100 page handbook, 30 flies, and accessories, valued at $110. A fly rod outfit, waders, wading boots and fishing license is required by our first field day, 4/4. Gear rental and purchase options are discussed in class.
