Chiefs Head Peak (13,579') and The Spearhead (12,575') cap the upper valley.Blue Lake (11,165') is located 5.5 miles from Glacier Gorge Trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's one of three alpine lakes in upper Glacier Gorge accessible by cross-country routes.

******This will be a long and challenging snowshoe.  You must be prepared with snowshoes, microspikes, poles and significant clothing layers.  Be prepared for snow and wind.  Because the days are short in December, we will keep a brisk pace with the understanding that weather, travel time, and snow depth may change our final destination.  It is possible that we will not make it to Blue Lake.

I will send out an email a few days before with final details.  This is one of my favorite hikes in Rocky!

This is a Bobcat trip.
