Outhouses are available at the trailhead.  (Suggest that you visit the Kum & Go near Woolly Mamoth just before meeting at AA.)

Details

This will be an out-and-back snowshoe route.  Beginning at the Echo Lake Campground on Mount Evans Road, we will take the Resthouse Meadows Trail, entering Mount Evans Wilderness, and then continue on to the ridge. From there, we will descend to Vance Creek and up the next ridge, where we will enjoy a snack/lunch before returning on same route. Note that the return route has a lengthy uphill climb to regain the ridge.  Click here for a detailed route map.

In addition to your 10 essentials, bring snowshoes, gaiters, trekking poles, sunscreen, extra water, a hot beverage, and lunch/snacks.

Be prepared for a 4-5 hour workout at high altitude (10,500' - 11,100')

Please let me know in advance if you have any medical issues that may affect you on this hike.
