Details

We will start at Bear Lake, hike down to Glacier Gorge, and follow the winter Trail to the Loch/Mills Lake intersection. Snowshoe up Icy Brook drainage to the Loch with views of Cathedral Wall, Andrews Glacier, and Tyndall Glacier. Drop to an off trail route below West Glacier Knob before climbing this prominent point and its neighbor. Continue traveling off-trail northwest to Lake Haiyaha, and head cross-country to Nymph Lake before the descent to Bear Lake. Good snow will provide an opportunity for a full day of work and navigation. Bring gear and clothing for winter travel.
