If coming from Boulder/Longmont area we can probably pick you up on the way.  Let me know.

Mileage cost is 90 miles times 30 cents/mile divided by 4 per car = $7 paid to driver by each passenger.   Watch for hike "intro" E-mail message 2 days prior to trip.

There are lots of Panorama whatever in Colorado.  This one is a peak east of Estes Park overlooking the Big Thompson River valley to the north and Little Thompson River to the southeast.  There are also nice views of Estes Park, Lumpy Ridge, and the northern section of RMNP.  The entire trip is on rough 4WD motorized recreation roads which are closed to vehicles during winter.  Being roads the grades are not steep and this would probably be good snowshoeing if the conditions are right.  When I scouted the TH recently I found the road packed snow and ice and looking well hiked.  I get the feeling this is a well know place for locals.  This will be a micro spike hike.

A search of the CMC trip database could not locate this destination leading me to the conclusion this area has not been been visited by CMC since at least 2008.  Here is a link to a nice web page about the area.  Click on the arrows at top for a slide show.  The first pic is the Pole Hill residential area below the TH.

Here is a CalTopo link to our proposed route

Other than finding the TH this trip will be exploratory to the leader.

Sorry it is past the registration deadline for this event.
