.

The bushwack up Eldorado peak goes thru an area that is usually closed in the spring and summer.   So fall is the only "good" time for this hike

Pace will be slow to moderate especially because maybe 1.2 mi of this uphill hike is a bushwach which is hard uphill and deer/game trail downhill . There are no steep drop offs or anything technical, but it is still an OFF TRAIL hike

I would like to have a minimum of 3 participants

IF YOU DECIDE TO REGISTER

A) ****PLEASE**** you must be trained and able to hike UPHILL 3miles with 2500 feet of gain at a "normal careful pace". If you have questions please email me directly. On this hike , once we start the bushwack , i will have group breaks every 20ish minutes till we hit the summit, so make sure you can do this.

B) there is no water on this course

C) Please bring enough clothes based on the weather and assume 20F colder

D) The group will stay together , so if you are faster , bring a book to wait for the rest of us :-) :-)

E) The COVID rules are to wear a FACE COVERING on these trails because they are single track and we cannot maintain 6feet from other hikers. Once we start the bushwack i am sure we can stay 6feet apart. My favorite face covering is a clear plastic shield which makes it easy to breath hiking uphill. GET ONE IT IS WORTH IT.

F) you must be a CMC member and you must have signed their new online Release of Liability

My plan is to

1- meet people at 8am at the Eldorado Canyon State Park visitor Center ( you will need a state park pass or a daily pass, )

2- We will need to walk on the road for 0.2 miles to the trail head ( we meet at the Visitor Center because it has the "big parking lot)

3-first 1.8 miles i am hoping it will take us 1hour-ish ... the trail is nice , thus the MODERATE pace

4-the bushwach  is steep and there is only a faint game trail , so i am hoping the offtrail 1.2 miles will take us around 1.5-2 hrs uphill and 1.5hrs downhill, thus the SLOW pace here

5- So i am guessing overall will take us  5.5 to 6.5 hours ... so we should be done by 2pm-ish

Any questions ? Email is the nest way to reach me because my schedule is pretty random and it is very hard to return  actual phone calls.
