Trip Leader:   Brian Burd - 303-912-8000 - To contact me please text and I will call you back.

I have lead backpacking trips into this area for the last 15 years. Mostly to Fern Lake but last year it burned so going to Odessa this summer.

If you have not Backpacked into Rocky Mountain National Park, it is quite a treat. People come from all over the world to hike and Backpack.

Things to do. Fly Fish, Hike, Relax around camp and read, Meal prep, Other... A nice day hike: Down to Fern Lake and up to Spruce Lake. Depending on the groups interest I may lead a trip to the destination, good fishing, picnic area.

I will be doing some flyfishing, if anyone has a little experience fly fishing I can help them dial it in. Can only help one or possibly two people at a time. Anyone fishing will need a Co. fishing license.

No fires at our location  or dogs in the park.

We will do some carpooling if possible. Can work out logistics as the group gels.

Depending on the groups desires we can stop for a meal in Lyons on the way back to Denver.

This trip is for experienced backpacking adults only, 21 or older. I'll be contacting you to make sure this trip is a great fit for you.

We will need bear canisters or Ursack. Usually two people can share one. We can work details out later.

I would like everyone signing up to have backpacked in the last year and have your systems refined. If you don't meet this requirement please call me and we can discuss your individual situation.

There is a small, $30 reservation fee we will all split, entrance into the park is $35 per car, some people have a lifetime or annual park pass

We will probably play some light music at night around camp. Feel free to bring your own play list. I will bring the bluetooth speaker.

I'll be planning a Zoom session prior to the trip to meet and greet, review the itinerary, answer any questions.

If the weather looks extremely rainy we will either reschedule or cancel the trip.  The link below and subsequent details are one and the same.
