American Mountain Club/Colorado Mountain Club lawn - west side of building - 710 10th Street, Golden, CO 80401

The class will be held outside from 10:00am - 7:00pm. There are restrooms across the street at Parfet Park.

Masks are required throughout the day.

Please contact with any questions about your WFA certification. 


This field day is limited to students who have already completed the virtual first day of the 2020 hybrid Zoom/video Backcountry Pulse WFA class. Eligible students will be contacted directly by e-mail.

This 8-hour in-person field session and final exam are the final steps towards completing your WFA certification. You'll have the chance to get hands-on practice and hone your skills. This field session will take place from 10 AM to 7 PM.

A passcode is required to register for this event. Eligible students course will receive a pass code to register. In order to attend this field day, students must have:

  • completed the live virtual lecture

  • read the assigned chapters in the book

  • watched the assigned videos

  • filled out the 3 forms in Google Classroom 

  • signed the CMC Liability Waiver

Certification Requirements:

Students must complete all virtual and in-person sessions, as well as written and practical testing in order to receive their Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and Epinephrine Auto-injector Training certifications. Certifications will be sent via email after students complete the field day and final exam. All certifications are valid for two years with no grace period. Certifications can be kept current by taking a 16-hour WFA course within the two-year period.
