Notes

British Columbia has dozens of remote ski lodges that cater to every type of skier background, with access ranging from foot travel to helicopter. Most groups arrive for a week at a time with supplies to eat, drink and ski as much as possible in those 7 days. Lucas Mouttet has led numerous trips to these lodges, planning and prepping for conditions much different from Colorado's climate, snowpack and terrain. His talk will highlight a number of the helicopter-accessed lodges and what it takes to prepare for a successful voyage into the great White-North and the Bugaboos.

LUCAS MOUTTET is lead instructor for Never Summer Outdoor School, with nearly a decade of experience teaching avalanche safety courses and wilderness first aid in Colorado, while serving as a backcountry patroller
and assisting with winter rescue missions at Cameron Pass. Lucas has been certified as a W-EMT, WFR and/or OEC technician since 2000. Lucas is an AIARE Course Leader who has taught avalanche safety for ski patrols, CDOT, military groups, Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, U.S. Forest Service, State Forest Service, and recreationists. Lucas has enjoyed skiing in zones from Canada to Argentina to Chamonix and many places in between!
