In addition to the films, we will have drinks, prizes, and a great gathering with your outdoor community in Golden!

"The Collective"

Adventuring to undiscovered peaks together, plotting midnight raids on inner-city handrails, lapping your home resort until that last ray of sunshine disappears behind a distant ridge...Skiing is COLLECTIVE, and Faction is back to share a new feature film with its global community.

The Collective is Faction’s second feature-length film and premiered this fall at the High Five Film Festival in Annecy, France – it will be screening all over the world and we are excited to present it here in Golden, CO!

Brought to you by a cast of world-class skiers and an award-winning production team, “The Collective” delves into the unique, collective spirit that makes skiing so much more than just an individual sport. Whether you associate more with the idea of hair-raising ascents and descents in the Alps or the prospect of hurling your body off of an 80-foot jump, this film covers the gamut; “The Collective” salutes all forms of skiing expression.

Faction employs stunning drone footage, Hollywood-grade stabilization technology and awe-inspiring editing techniques to cast a beautiful light on the mind-boggling performances of its esteemed athletes, whose talents grow and transform year over year. Bluemax Media, the drone operators behind Candide Thovex’s famed Quattro 2 film provided production assistance and delivered amazing footage yet again. The film is a co-production effort with Red Bull Media House, which injects its expertise in production, post-production and distribution.

Faction athletes starring in the film represent 9 nations from around the globe; the cast consists of Faction’s Olympic and X Games gold medalists, some of the world’s foremost powder skiing and street-skiing aficionados, and big-mountain savvy Freeride World Tour competitors and mountain guides.

"Making Turns"
A new short film from The Road West Traveled about Colorado skier/author/artist Fritz Sperry, who is known for his backcountry skiing book series, "Making Turns."

The Road West Traveled is a local adventure production company based in Boulder, CO. Following the success of their first film, "Abandoned" which premiered last fall in Denver. Their work is inspired by thrill-seekers, early morning risers, weekend warriors, and adrenaline junkies. Backcountry ski lines, gnarly crags, and steep mountain faces are the mediums with which they create visual art and authentic content. There are mountains to climb, couloirs to be skied, and stories waiting to be told. So join them and let’s get outside!
