Gordan Thibedeau, Group Chairman, welcomes you to the Fort Collins Group of the Colorado Mountain Club. We are a community of more than 300 adventure-loving outdoorspeople who enjoy experiencing Colorado's mountains. Whether it's a hike around Horsetooth Reservoir, a climb of Longs Peak, a fishing trip on the Poudre River, or simply a potluck social, we invite you to join us!

Please check out our Activity Schedule page for upcoming trips and other club activities. Guests are welcome, please don't be shy to see what we have to offer! Note that all of our leaders are trained in leadership, safety, and wilderness first aid skills.

The Fort Collins Group is one of 13 regional chapters of the Colorado Mountain Club, which is headquartered in Golden, Colorado.

March - Conquering Aconcagua

Wednesday, 27 Mar 2019:

Join the Colorado Mountain Club Fort Collins Group for an inspirational evening as Hannah Wittmeyer, local (aspiring) alpinist, shares her trip and successful summit of 22,841’ Aconcagua with her friend, Rob. She will provide trip-specific insights from her unguided ascent of the Normal Route, and then invite you to join a broader discussion of new-age alpinism:  the culture, gear, training, and ethics surrounding the sport.

When Hannah is not in the midst of a recreational mountain challenge, she works for the Bohemian Foundation, plays banjo, enjoys group acrobatics, music and good times with friends.  You do not want to miss this special evening with such an inspiring young athlete!
