The Colorado Mountain Club's Youth Education Program (YEP) offers a wide array of Adventure Courses, year-round. Winter, spring, summer, and fall - you will find us exploring the Rocky Mountains and surrounding areas through adventure and education.
YEP participants find themselves learning technical rock climbing skills, hiking, exploring the winter backcountry, camping, backpacking, learning outdoor leadership skills, and even sledding a glacier in the summer. We pride ourselves in combining adventure with education to encourage the personal development of our youth participants and their connection to the natural environment. We see participants return every year, as they move through our progression of courses, gaining new skills and confidence along the way.
If you enjoy being outside, adventure, learning new skills, and making friends, then YEP Adventure Courses are for you! Whether you are brand new to being in the wilderness or an avid outdoor adventurer, we have a course designed to fit your skill level. Courses are offered for ages ~9-18 (specific age requirements are course-dependent).
“Camp showed me that I can do anything that I put my mind to. I know that I am a really good climber now, because I want to be. I have more confidence not only in climbing, because of the way that everyone pushed me and encouraged me, but it also impacted me in other aspects of my life - helping me to know that I can do anything I put my mind to.”

YEP relies on contributions from generous donors to provide Summer Adventure Courses scholarships to youth who would otherwise be unable participate, due to economic hardship. You can connect a child from a low-income family in our community to nature and our mountains with a tax-deductible gift to YEP today.
