How to Schedule a Course with YEP


Step 1: Complete a School and Group Registration/Inquiry Form 

New to YEP and not sure what class to sign up for, program timing, or other details? Check out our Course Options and Course Descriptions, and then fill out the form to the best of your ability along with your questions. Our School and Groups Program Manager Kathy Nguyen will get in touch shortly.

    • ​Mondays are reserved for classroom visits and field-trip weather reschedules. 

*Please beware of the following policies before registering!

Registration Deadlines

  • Fall Programming (September-November) Priority Deadline September 10, 2018
    • Programs include indoor and outdoor rock climbing, team building, slacklining, bouldering, orienteering, and much more.
    • Overnight programs have limited availablity in the Fall. Priority Deadline September 1, 2018.
  • Winter/Spring Programming (January - May) Priority Deadline January 10, 2019
    • Programs include avalanche safety, snow science, snowshoeing, geology, mountain weather, hiking, and much more.


Most classes have a per student fee ranging from $5-$30 depending on activity:

  • Indoor Classes: $5-$8/student
  • Slacklining/Bouldering: $10/student
  • Indoor Rock Climbing: $15/student
  • Outdoor Climbing: $30/student
  • Hiking/Geology Field Day: $12/student
  • Winter Field Day: $20/student

**We require a minimum payment of ten students for all programs at the American Mountaineering Center or field sites and a minimum payment of 20 students for programs at your school. In other words if you would like us to work with 15 students at your school you will be charged for 20 students.

Payment is due in full 3 business days prior to your programming.

Your group is responsible for covering any and all park entrance fee (see essential information for prices).  


We always encourage re-scheduling before cancellation

  • A full refund will be issued if your program date is cancelled more than one month ahead of scheduled date
  • A 50% refund will be issued if your program date is cancelled within one month of the scheduled date.
  • Small changes to student numbers may be made up to 3 business days before your program.

Weather Policies

In the case of severe weather, temperatures below 30 degrees Fahrenheit and snow storms the CMC Youth Education Department reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any class or program.

Course Expectations:

Your group is expected to provide:

  • Signed CMC liability waivers for each students
  • Clothing appropriate for the activity
  • Lunches, water & snacks as needed
  • Minimum of 1 chaperone per about 15 students
    • Behavior management support during program, bringing youth on bathroom breaks, and managing free time.
    • Chaperones will also be responsible for supervising any youth who show up without a waiver
    • Teachers/Chaperones will be expected to fill out demographic and evaluation paperwork on the day of program.

CMC will provide

  • Qualified and experienced staff or volunteers delivering high quality instruction and curriculum
  • Staff and volunteers that have undergone criminal background checks
  • Supervision and risk management within the activity
  • Equipment and curriculum supplies necessary for the program
