 sand feet. We climb through the woods for the first mile. The hike con
 tinues on an open ridge\, where there should be a multitude of wildflo
 wers given the rainfall the past 2 nights. We can take our time on the
  ridge observing and photographing before reaching silver dollar lake.
  Another 300 foot climb takes us up to Murray lake . The threat of thu
 nderstorms will alter our plans.

DESCRIPTION:This gorgeous 7 mile / 2000 ft elevation-gain hike include
 s climbing both Mount Flora and Colorado Mines Peak. Starting at Berth
 oud Pass (11,306' elevation) this almost-entirely-above treeline hike 
 is noted for its wildflowers and expansive views of nearby peaks. Herd
 s of elk are also not an infrequent sight here. On the way down we wil
 l add 0.5 miles and +195' hiking up towards Colorado Mines Peak and go
  down the road back to the trailhead.
