  beautiful trail meanders through forest and tundra and ascends to an 
 open landscape. We will have the option to ascend another 450 ft to an

 nd trip ~11 miles and ~2400 ft elevation gain. Pace around 2.0-2.4 mph
  at lower elevations. At higher altitudes pace may drop to 1.6-2.0 mph

DESCRIPTION:Ascending Hikes Section (AHS): Mount Morrison is the bigge
 st\, baddest\, rough and tumble\, slog of a hike in the Denver Mountai
 n Park system.  It also may be the most exciting\, most fun\, and most
  scenic trail in the system as well. This relatively short hike up to 
 the summit of Mount Morrison includes about 2000 ft of elevation gain.
  Mount Morrison is one of the most prominent peaks of Denver’s Front R
 ange and its summit and foothills offer awesome vantage points of the 
 other snowcapped mountains to the west and the Denver Metro area to th
 e east. This is the fifth in a summer series of AHS hikes.

 within Park County. The mountain is part of the larger Rocky Mountains
  and offers scenic views of the surrounding alpine landscapes\, includ
 ing other peaks like Mount Sherman. This is the fourteenth in a summer
