For those coming from Colorado Springs, let's meet in Monument, CO at the Monument Park and Ride, just east of I-25 and just north of Hwy 105 at 4:30am. From there it's a 2 1/2 hour drive to Breckenridge via I-25 and I-70. Let’s all meet in the City Market parking lot in Breckenridge at 7:00am. 400 North Parkway, Breckenridge, CO 80424
We will then drive to hopefully find a place to park close to the ski area.
The goal is to be skinning up through the ski resort by 7:30am.
Here is our route:
Skin up Claimjumber ski run->skin up Pika ski run->skin up Imperial Ridge to Peak 8. (Note, the last part of Imperial Ridge may require switching from skinning on skis to crampons or other traction of some sort. We will likely backtrack back down the same way we came up.
Required Equipment
AT skis, skins, poles or a whippet, helmet, 10 Essentials.
You may want light weight shoes in the pack in case the snow is melted out at the bottom.
