The DOT is a walking route that makes a full circle around Denver.  Here is  the link to the map of Segment 6: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/dot-segment-6-plymouth-mountain-hildebrand-ranch-park-and-chatfield-state-park.  We will start on the Meadowlark trail.  We then will be hiking on the Plymouth Creek & Plymouth Mountain trails around Plymouth Mountain where we should have great views of the entire Denver region. We then take the Black Bear Trail into Hildebrand Ranch Park where we’ll climb up again, this time getting views of the state park.    We will then make our way along the Two Branch trail, along W Trailmark Pkwy and Chatfield-Trailmark trail back to our cars.

Most of this hike will be on trails.  There are bathrooms at the beginning and end parking lots.

This is an exploratory route for the trip leaders.

We will meet at 7:00am at the Jamison Picnic Area in Chatfield State Park.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/bAwjkz4Aewdadigu8  It’s between the Chatfield Main Parking Lot and Catfish Flats Parking Lot near the Chatfield State Park Deer Creek Entrance, 9700 S Wadsworth Blvd., Littleton, CO 80128.

We will then carpool to our starting spot in Deer Creek Canyon Park.

PLEASE NOTE that you need a state park pass to get into Chatfield and the Keep Colorado Wild Pass that you can get when you renew your car registration counts.  If you do NOT have a state park pass, please let the trip leader know so we can make alternative arrangements for you.
