This is a beautiful hike, almost completely above treeline with good views of some close-in and some farther out mountains and lots of wildlowers.  The snow is gone from the trail but is still evident in the mountain views.  The wildflowers are out and plentiful although perhaps not yet at their peak.  Wildflowers seen on 7/13/23 include sky pilot, forget-me-nots, purple fringe, elephantella (at the pass itself), paintbrush, moss campion, Old Man of the Mountain and more.

Please do not sign up for this trip if you cannot maintain a moderate pace as it is important to complete the trip before weather moves in.

Meet at Woolly Mammoth section MM for a 6:30am departure.
