May - Hiking the Alta Via -- Italian Dolomites

Wednesday, 23 May 2018:  Join the Colorado Mountain Club Fort Collins Group for an amazing presentation by Steve Dielman as he shares his experiences along the Alta Via 1, a spectacular 50-mile north-south traverse through the Dolomites of Italy, which offers access to an extensive network of hiking trails, climbing destinations, and ski terrain. Rugged landscape, charming villages, historic ruins, exciting via ferrata, and local hospitality all co-exist in this unique region.  Lodging and eating at inviting “trail-side” rifugios allows for easy exploration of the area in relative comfort using a simple day pack, although more remote options abound.  Come and be mesmerized by the beauty Steve has to share!

Time: Social at 7:00 p.m., Presentation at 7:30 p.m.

Location: Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, Twinberry Auditorium
