Gordan Thibedeau, Group Chairman, welcomes you to the Fort Collins Group of the Colorado Mountain Club. We are a community of more than 300 adventure-loving outdoorspeople who enjoy experiencing Colorado's mountains. Whether it's a hike around Horsetooth Reservoir, a climb of Longs Peak, a fishing trip on the Poudre River, or simply a potluck social, we invite you to join us!

Please check out our Activity Schedule page for upcoming trips and other club activities. Guests are welcome, please don't be shy to see what we have to offer! Note that all of our leaders are trained in leadership, safety, and wilderness first aid skills.

The Fort Collins Group is one of 13 regional chapters of the Colorado Mountain Club, which is headquartered in Golden, Colorado.

September - Seven trips in the Wilds of Alaska 

Wednesday, 26 Sep 2018:  

Join the Colorado Mountain Club Fort Collins Group for a great evening as Rudy Schmiedt shares his amazing adventures in beautiful Alaska on wild rivers and backpacking in the Brooks Range, Glacier Bay, Wrangell St. Elias Park, Denali Park, Katmai, and the Kodiak Islands.  Rudy has rafted or kayaked hundreds of miles on several class 3 and 4 rivers, sometimes solo!  He has experienced backpacking in the pristine wilderness while encountering bears, moose, caribou and much more.  His Alaskan adventures include over a hundred miles of kayaking in the stunning Glacier Bay.  Let’s be inspired together as Rudy shares his passion for the wilderness with us!

Time:  Social Time at 7:00pm; speaker at 7:30pm
