In the AIARE 2 lectures, you can expect a deeper dive into all things snow and a case or two for review. The lectures will provide a structural foundation for your three field days.

The AIARE 2 Lectures are lecture and discussion segments. Some review of the AIARE Decision Making Framework, deeper dives into the snowpack, the avalanche hazard, weather and forecasting, a case study or two, and building a tour for Field Day 1. We'll be touching on all the the AIARE Decision Making Framework components: tracking the season, building the trip catalog, planning a trip & routes based on the weather forecast, the avalanche hazard and terrain choices, managing the team and debriefs.
