Avalanche Aware is an easy-to-understand online course that teaches you important things about avalanches and how to avoid them. Whether you're walking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling, the basic rules for staying safe are the same. After you finish the course, you'll be able to chart a safe path forward- whether that means attending a local event about avalanche safety, taking a beginner's avalanche course, or learning other useful outdoor skills.
CMC MEMBERS: Upon completion of the course, take a screenshot or download your certificate. Send your certificate to office@cmc.org to request your badge update on your profile.
CMC Trip Leaders: This is just the free online course. For Snow Trip Leader renewal, sign up for an Avy Aware: Avalanche Terrain Avoidance course
