Hiking – Centennial Peak
Fun hike to the summit of Centennial Peak or the "Banded Mountain." The mountain was renamed in 1976 in celebration of the America's bicentennial. Mileage is short, elevation gain is moderate, and most of the climb is on-trail with light scrambling.

This is a fun and easy hike with mild exposure. It is great for teenagers and an excellent first thirteener!
We can carpool from Durango, otherwise the plan will be to meet at the Transfer Campground Northeast of Mancos. The last 1.5 miles of forest road require 4WD, so can carpool to the trailhead if needed.
If carpooling from Durango, we'll meet at Santa Rita Park at 7:00 AM. It is approximately 1.5 hour drive from Durango to the trailhead. If meeting at the Transfer Campground, we'll plan to meet at 8:00 AM.
We want to be begin hiking no later than 8:30-9:00 AM.
Pizza and beer at the Mancos Brewery afterwards!
Please stay tuned for minor updates.
