This Denver-based one-day-in-the-field course supplies each student with a snowshoe/pole kit for the day. If you prefer, bring your own kit (snowshoes and ski/hiking poles with snow baskets). Wear your own waterproof boots and tall gaiters. See the Equipment List below.

We will meet at the equipment hut at the back of the CMC Building parking lot (against 9th street) at 8 AM to handout snowshoe kits and organize carpools. We will talk for about a half-hour reviewing the equipment and describing choices to make when buying and preparing for the day. We will leave for the venue after that.
NOTE: CoorsTek is no longer available for our parking due to its imminent redevelopment, so please park in the AMC Lot from now on.

Required Equipment
Come dressed for a day in the snow (and possible wind), and bring your ten essentials including a water and lunch or hardy snacks.
The snowshoe kit does not include boots, because any water resistant boots will work. Wear your own waterproof/winter hiking boots and high gaiters.
If you have questions about this, please send them to cmcbeginnerss@gmail.com.
