The course refreshes the skills taught in the Single Pitch Rescue course and focuses on pick-offs in multi-pitch terrain to rescue an injured climber, and transitions to counterbalanced and tandem rappels.
Participants are expected to be graduates of the Single Pitch Rock Rescue Course (or the previously taught Rescue II) and have multi-pitch climbing experience. This is a fast paced course and participants should be proficient with their climbing knots before attending the first session. Please reach out to the class lead if you have specific questions about this course.
This course will have three optional free refresher seminars on the nights of May 14, May 21, and June 4th. Students are highly encouraged to attend. These seminars will review skills such as loaded munters, lowering a climber from above, haul systems, load transfers, and getting to baseline. Please arrive at the course having practiced these skills and attend the free refresher seminars as well!
