Ascending Hikes Section (AHS): a ~9 mile and ~2200 ft elevation gain out and back hike along South Boulder Creek to two alpine lakes: Rogers Pass Lake and Heart Lake. This is the tenth in a summer series of AHS hikes.

We'll be hiking from the East Portal parking lot along the South Boulder Creek Trail to two alpine lakes, Rogers Pass Lake and Heart Lake, both about 11,000 ft elevation. this ~9 mile out and back hike will provide about 2200 ft of elevation gain. If we feel ambitious we can check out Roger Pass, adding another ~1 mile and ~500 ft of elevation gain. We'll have views of Haystack Mountain, Heartbeat Peak, and James Peak. We'll stop for lunch/snack at or near Heart Lake. Our pace will be determined by the strength, stamina, and endurance of the group. We'll return to our cars along the same route.
