As this is an Ascending Hike which is progressing in difficulty as the hiking season unfolds participants should be acclimated to altitudes above 10,000 ft. and have been consistently hiking  before signing up for this trip.

Regarding ascending steep sections of the trail: I like each of us to establish a pace that we can sustain for about a 30 minute interval  no matter whether it is slower or faster than other hikers. I encourage you to find the pace that works best for you.  This means we may be spread out from each other during an interval of hiking.  We will  gather together again after either a  30 minute interval,  or at trail junctions, or at the top of an ascending section of trail  for rest and bio break so that we stay together as a group for the duration of the hike.

We will sit down near the highest elevation of this route for a snack/lunch break before heading down.

We will meet at Woolly Mammoth Park N Ride Section BB at 6:15 for a 6:25 A.M. departure. There is a convenience store on US 40 before the Woolly Mammoth Park and Ride if you need to  use the bathroom before showing up at the Park n Ride.  No comfort stop on the way.  The drive is about 50 minutes and there are port o potties at the trail head to use.

Expect each carload a gas charge of around $30 divided among riders. Bring about $7-8 cash to pay your driver.

Woolly Mammoth Park N Ride is at 18560 US-40, Golden, CO 80401 .
